A few months ago I posted about a wax carving for my new jewellery design. You can read the post here.
The carving was cast into silver master copies; those were used to create a vulcanised rubber spin cast mold for centrifugal casting in lead-free pewter.
I have made these pewter castings into a range of adorable cat jewelry items and accessories.
Twin Cats keychain
The two little twin cats are sleeping with their tails entwined in a Celtic style knot. i was remembering how my two cats used to sleep together…. This is one of the smaller jewelry designs I have attempted – I like it’s simplicity and the fact that it can be translated into quite a few different designs.
Twin Cat earrings
Cats remain for me the most delightful animals to depict artistically ~ whether in paint, sculpture, jewelry or etching. Their enigmatic beauty is so peaceful, and being able to wear these totem animals as a piece of jewelry is something quite magical !
Two Cats pendant necklace
These would make beautifully special gifts for a cat lover, and you can purchase any of these on my website shop : LizaPaizis.com

I have been wanting to paint a mother and daughter painting for years, but it took my beautiful friend Angela Yender’s gorgeous story of a mermaid mother and daughter to finally awaken the inspiration.
Her story depicts so beautifully the eternal bond between mother and child, and here I have expressed that love as these two embrace one another, tails entwined, in a watery realm that is evocatively dreamlike.
It is a watercolour painting, my favourite medium which always manages to convey a sense of the ethereal. Of course, it has my love for the Art Nouveau style flowing through the details; hair and water swirl around the pair in aquas, lilacs and soft pinks and browns .
It would make a very unique and original Mother’s day gift! ~ It is available for sale as a quality archival giclee print, from my online shop: LizaPaizis.com

Recently I bought a beautiful sketch book from Barnes & Noble – just the right size not to be too daunting to work in, with lovely ivory coloured paper. I’ve been sketching away, and putting some on my new Instagram account @lizapaizisart . I have been neglecting my sketching practices of late, so this is good motivation! It also reminds me of a wonderful book “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron in which we are reminded how therapeutic daily creativity is….
Today, I just felt like the first sketch needed to be a heart design – perhaps a tattoo design. The world definitely needs more love, and beautiful hearts right now….
I used a nice new Galaxy Marker for white highlights, and one of my favourite Caran D’Ache colored pencils, for this Filigree Love Heart sketch .

For some time now I’ve been creating these cute little original miniature watercolor paintings, previously outlined in this post.
Burmese Cat original miniature painting
Little Cardinal miniature painting
Using pigment colored pencils and ink pens, tube watercolor (I use Rembrandt & Van Gogh watercolors) and a combination of beautiful handmade mulberry bark paper and rough textured watercolour paper, I create them with little to no preliminary sketching – it keeps the process spontaneous!
Fairy Queen miniature painting
Each little painting measures 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches, and I put them in a little matt, perfect for gift giving! I love painting cats, flowers and owls especially, but have also done dragonflies, unicorns and fairies.
Unicorn original miniature painting
They are exclusively for sale at Outside the Lines Gallery in Dubuque, Iowa ~ a lovely gallery filled with very unique and local art. If you would like a custom order for any of my unique and original paintings, please contact me on my website contact pageor check out my originals for sale here.
This lovely whimsical painting was inspired by a folk-style portrait of two girls I saw from the 1800’s.
It was a tradtion in former times for parents to place a coral necklaces on children as coral was thought to protect the wearer from ill health and harm.
I love the style of Magical Realism painting, where is the subject matter is often blurred between realism and a strong nuance of the quirky or magical.
This painting is primarily done in watercolours, with touches of gold, silver and coloured pigment ink.
I particularly enjoyed painting the two sisters, as it is a dedication to my own sister and the beautiful spirit of sisterhood…
….who knows what they, and their little totem owls within their arms are thinking?
Paintings like this one are so very special that I only release a small amount of print reproductions of them. The edition of this size print of the painting is only 50 prints and is available for sale here.
The original painting is also for sale – please contact me for more information. Thanks for visiting !
